Learning to skate? We can get you started with all the basics. Our main social leisure session is open to all beginners, ages and ability. 

These sessions are designed to allow beginners to learn to skate in their own time, to gain balance, strength, confidence and skills whilst having fun.

Once you've started to skate with ease you may end up with a speeding ticket. 

The speeding ticket enables you to join in with our speed skating session.

Please don't rush to buy skates just yet you can borrow ours free of charge. You will be better placed with knowledge of what to purchase after a week or two.  

The session costs £5 per skater on a pay as you go basis, no sign ups or commitments required (cash only venue).

BARNWELL SPORTS HALL

Barnwell Upper School, Barnwell, Stevenage, SG2 9SR

Every Friday 5.30-6.30pm starting from September right through to July term time only. 

Here we learn the skills needed to confidently speed around corners, over take safely and participate in mini track and team relay races.

Skaters invited to join this session have shown potential and are under skills development with view to become a member of our competitive speed team.

We are providing 10 weeks of adult only sessions starting Saturday 1st February 2025 5-6pm. We offer a nice big hall and somewhere you can meet new people and socialise on wheels whether your a complete beginner, a novice looking to learn new skills or an experienced skater wanting to skate in a child free zone. 

The cost will be £8 on a pay as you go basis or £70 for advanced block booking.

We have a small team of speed skaters that attend local, national and international competitions. 

Ranging from 7 - 15 years old, our skaters are always training hard to improve their speed and technique. Some of our skaters are record holders and Champions in sprint and long distance road races. They also incorporate their training into fundraising for charities by taking on skating challenges.

This team is always developing and introducing new speed skaters in different age catorgories, so if you have a competitive child that likes skating then have a chat with us. 

We are looking for financial sponsors to help fund new skinsuits and race skates for our team.
